gaia mouth and nose mask
You don’t have a sewing machine, the right fabric or no time for DIY masks?
Together with friends from a sewing shop in India, we decided to make masks from certified organic cotton. The sewing shop is part of the BSCI initiative, which ensures fair working conditions and thus promotes social sustainability.
The cotton of the mouth and nose mask is 100% organic, so you have no harmful substances on the mask and thus on your airways.
Our mouth and nose masks are makeshift masks, so they are not suitable for medical use or personal protective equipment. The BfArM therefore clearly points out that those who wear these community masks cannot rely on “[…] that they will protect them or others from the transmission of SARS-CoV-2, as these masks do not have a corresponding protective effect has been proven. “
For reasons of hygiene, our mouth and nose masks cannot be exchanged or returned.
Since filtering masks are very scarce at the moment, we should keep these masks for people who work in nursing and hospital staff. With the gaia mouth and nose mask you can still support your protective measures against external and self-infection and thus be even more careful with yourself and your environment.
#begaia – be mindful of yourself and others!

- 1 gaia mouth and nose mask
- 100% organic cotton from India
- plastic-free, cotton
Your gaia mouth and nose mask is not a certified medical product, therefore does not constitute personal protective equipment and is only suitable for private use.
Before wearing it, you should make sure that your community mask is dry. If it is soaked from breath, you have to change it immediately!
When wearing it, make sure that your mouth and nose mask is placed over your mouth, nose and cheeks and that the edges are as close as possible to minimize air penetration at the sides. Your makeshift mask can work best if you do not touch it while wearing it and do not wear it around your neck.
It is also important that the hygiene regulations and the 1.5 m distance to other people must be observed!
After using it, you should keep it as short as possible and wash it immediately. After removing it, the following applies again: Wash hands with soap for 20-30 seconds.
- Wash in your washing machine at 60-95 ° C with a detergent
- “Bake” in your oven at 90 ° C for about 30 minutes (caution: never leave your mask unattended in your oven!)
